Where are you from and how does that affect your work?
I am Nigerian, and that simply means resilience. We are a people consistently seeking to do more, to rise above challenges, and to find solutions where others may see obstacles. My father is a lover of excellence, and from him I inherited the drive to push beyond limits and embrace high standards in all I do. These values — resilience, determination, and the pursuit of excellence — are at the heart of my work. They shape how I create, how I lead, and how I inspire others, ensuring that everything I put my name on carries both integrity and impact.
What was the inspiration behind the VOAfrica conference?
The inspiration behind the VOAfrica Conference was the desire to grow the voice arts in Africa by creating a platform where African talent can learn, network, and thrive. Having worked across several regions of the continent, I have witnessed firsthand the extraordinary pool of natural-born talent — some of the finest voices globally. However, many of these gifted individuals often lack access to technical training, industry insights, and professional opportunities that could elevate their craft.
VOAfrica was born to bridge that gap — to provide quality information, mentorship, and exposure that empowers African voice talent to compete and collaborate on the world stage.
How do you define success in the voiceover industry?
For me, success in the voiceover industry is deeply personal — it’s about achieving what you have set out to achieve as a voice talent. For some, success means becoming a recognizable voice, for others it’s about building financial stability through their craft, and for some it’s simply the joy of bringing characters to life.
Whatever your motivation may be, true success is becoming the voice talent you always envisioned yourself to be — living out that dream with passion, authenticity, and purpose.
What inspiration can you give to beginners in the industry?
To beginners in the voiceover industry: Start with a clear dream of who you want to become. Don’t settle for being just a regular voice — define your uniqueness and lean into it. Let successful talents inspire you, not intimidate you. Remember, every seasoned professional was once a beginner.
Invest in yourself: train consistently, network intentionally, and seek out opportunities to learn. Attend industry events and conferences like VOAfrica, where you can gain knowledge, build connections, and discover the vast possibilities within the voice arts.
Your journey may be challenging, but with focus, resilience, and passion, you can grow into the voice talent you’ve always envisioned.
